Our dogs are DNA tested through Embark DNA to make sure there are no unhealthy genetic abnormalities bred into their offspring. These results are sent to The Orthopedic Foundation (OFA) for review and certification. We also do OFA testing on hips, eyes and heart on our dogs to make sure that their puppies start life with every advantage possible. These tests are costly and require travel to specialists. The hip testing requires that the dog be 24 months old, if that certification is lacking, it's because of age. No testing of parents can insure a completely perfect pup, but as ethical breeders, we want to do all we can to produce the best Goldens we can to maintain breed standards and give our dogs the healthiest, longest lives possible.

Betty White
Jovi is still a baby; she won't be bred until she is over 24 months. As we get her tests in, they will be posted here. She has DNA tested as positive as a carrier of ichthyosis, (common in English Creme Goldens) which means that she can only be bred with a stud who is not positive or a carrier. Some of her pups may be carriers as well but will not present symptoms of the condition. You can read more about it here: Centronuclear Myopathy (animaldnadiagnostics.co.uk) Jovi's pups will come with limited registration unless you are a proven breeder.
